The highly anticipated release trailer of “Kalki 2898 AD,” starring Prabhas and directed by Nag Ashwin, has faced yet another delay. Vyjayanthi Movies, the production house behind this epic dystopian science fiction film, announced that the trailer, initially scheduled for an earlier date, will now be unveiled at 8 PM. “Kalki 2898 AD” is set in a post-apocalyptic landscape, where the desertified city of Kasi stands as the last known bastion of humanity. Ruled by a totalitarian elite from a hovering megastructure called the “Complex,” the city faces an uncertain future. Against this backdrop, the film weaves together Indian mythology, dystopian society, and the enigmatic figure of Kalki—the tenth avatar of the Hindu deity Vishnu.

Prabhas leads the ensemble cast, which includes Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani, and Brahmanandam. The film’s production budget of ₹600 crore (approximately US$72 million) underscores its ambition. Serbian cinematographer Djordje Stojiljkovic captures the visually stunning world, while Santhosh Narayanan’s music adds to the grandeur. Fans worldwide have been eagerly awaiting the trailer, and the recent pre-release event in Mumbai—attended by luminaries like Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Deepika Padukone—only heightened the excitement. As the clock ticks toward 8 PM, anticipation reaches a fever pitch. Will “Kalki 2898 AD” live up to its colossal expectations? We’ll find out soon.
