In a surprising move, acclaimed director Shankar is said to have decided to cut 30 minutes from his latest film, “Indian 2,” after receiving feedback from audiences and critics. The film, which stars Kamal Haasan in the lead role, has been criticized for being too lengthy and dragging in parts.

Despite high expectations, “Indian 2” has received a lackluster response worldwide, particularly in Tamil Nadu. The film’s performance in smaller towns like Aruppukottai has been notably disappointing. Released in three theatres with nearly 12 shows a day, the movie has struggled to fill seats, with occupancy rates hovering around 40-50%.

Shankar’s decision to shorten the film aims to address these concerns and improve the viewing experience. The revised version is expected to be released soon, with hopes of revitalizing the film’s box office performance.
