Superstar Rajinikanth has been discharged from Apollo Hospitals in Chennai after a four-day stay following a non-surgical heart procedure. The 73-year-old actor had been admitted on September 30 due to swelling in his aorta, a major blood vessel leading from the heart. On October 1, Rajinikanth underwent a successful transcatheter procedure where a stent was placed to seal the swelling. According to the medical team, led by Senior Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Sai Satish, the procedure was completed without complications, and Rajinikanth remained under observation for two days.
Late on October 3, at around 11 PM, Rajinikanth was discharged from the hospital. The medical bulletin from Apollo Hospitals stated, “Mr. Rajinikanth is stable and doing well. He should be home in two days (sic).” Fans, as well as officials from the film industry, have shown their support throughout his recovery, expressing relief and joy at the news of his discharge.
Although Rajinikanth is back home, doctors have advised him to rest for a few weeks before resuming his busy work schedule. He is expected to continue shooting for director Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie once he receives clearance from his doctors. Rajinikanth had recently wrapped up a schedule in Visakhapatnam and returned to Chennai ahead of the audio launch of his highly anticipated film Vettaiyan.
The upcoming Vettaiyan, directed by TJ Gnanavel, is set for a grand release on October 10, coinciding with the Vijayadashami (Dussehra) celebrations. The film has generated significant excitement, with fans eagerly awaiting Rajinikanth’s return to the silver screen. The star-studded cast includes Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Dushara Vijayan, and Ritika Singh, and the trailer has already captivated audiences with Rajinikanth in the titular role in an action-packed, commercial entertainer.
Rajinikanth’s health update has brought much relief to his fans, who had been concerned after news of his hospitalization. As per Tamil news channel Thanthi TV, there is no cause for worry, and Rajinikanth is recovering well. With a few weeks of rest, Thalaivar is expected to be back to full health and continue his work commitments.
