Actress Kayadu Lohar, who made a remarkable debut in Tamil cinema with Ashwath Marimuthu’s blockbuster Dragon, has expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the director, her co-star Pradeep Ranganathan, and producer Archana Kalpathi. In an emotional social media post, Kayadu credited the film for transforming her career and lauded the team for their unwavering support.
The Film That Changed Everything
Taking to Instagram, Kayadu shared a post titled The Film That Has Changed My Life – Dragon, reminiscing about her journey with the project. She recalled her initial excitement when director Ashwath Marimuthu first narrated the script to her over a Zoom call. However, she was originally considered for the role of Keerthi, and after the initial discussion, she did not hear back, leaving her disappointed.
“A month later, Ashwath reached out again, this time offering me the role of Pallavi,” she wrote. Although initially confused about the change, she recalled a defining moment when the director reassured her.
“He came back just five minutes after our meeting ended and told me, ‘Kayadu, Dragon and Pallavi will change everything for you. Don’t think about the number of heroines in the film or who gets more prominence. I promise you, people will fall in love with you and Pallavi.’ And he delivered on that promise.”
Praising Ashwath’s ability to craft well-rounded female characters, she wrote, “After understanding the full narrative and Pallavi’s significance, I wouldn’t have missed this opportunity for anything. Thank you, Ashwath, for giving me this role, for keeping every promise you made, and for ensuring my debut was nothing short of perfect.”
A Special Bond with Pradeep Ranganathan
Kayadu also took a moment to acknowledge her co-star, actor-director Pradeep Ranganathan, calling him a rare gem in the industry.
“You genuinely want the best for your co-actors and always ensure they shine,” she wrote, praising his selflessness and willingness to share knowledge.
Reflecting on their evolving friendship, she shared, “From barely speaking on set to now discussing scripts, stories, and our passion for cinema—it’s been an incredible journey. We both strive for excellence and never settle for mediocrity.”
Describing Pradeep as a “phenomenal actor and an incredible co-star,” she reminisced about their shoot in Europe, adding, “I had the best time. And yes sir, I hope one day I get to work under your direction. Waiting for the call, sir.”
Gratitude to Archana Kalpathi and AGS Productions
Addressing Archana Kalpathi, the producer of Dragon, Kayadu expressed immense gratitude for the opportunity.
“You believed in me and gave me this chance. Nothing would have been possible if you hadn’t taken that leap of faith,” she wrote.
She praised AGS Entertainment for its commitment to nurturing fresh talent. “Very few production houses have a clear vision of the narratives they want to build and the impact they want to create. AGS is one of them. You believe in giving chances to new talent, seeing their potential, and betting on them. Thank you for doing that with me.”
In a heartfelt conclusion, she said, “You made me feel like a star, and I will always be grateful. Dragon has marked the beginning of my journey—the one I have always dreamed of. Thank you, Archana ma’am.”
Kayadu Lohar’s emotional tribute highlights not just her gratitude but also the deep bonds she formed with the Dragon team. As her journey in Tamil cinema takes off, her words reflect the profound impact of a film that has shaped her career and life.
