The film, directed by Venkat Prabhu, was a phenomenal success both commercially and critically, particularly lauded for its innovative handling of the time-loop concept in Indian cinema. The principal cast and crew commemorated the milestone with heartfelt messages on social media, reflecting on the risk and reward of their cinematic experiment.
Director Venkat Prabhu led the celebratory remarks, recalling the initial doubts surrounding the film’s complex premise.
“When we made this crazy time-loop film Maanaadu, I believed one thing for sure: that our audience will get it… And you all got it MORE than we imagined! Thank you for celebrating experiments in cinema. You make us push boundaries… thanks for the belief @SilambarasanTR_ and my team,” he posted, recognizing his lead star and the entire crew.
SJ Suryah’s Role: A “Memorable Opportunity”

“Thank you Dir @vp_offl sirrrr for the great memorable opportunity 🙏🔥,” he wrote, highlighting the pivotal role the film played in his acting career.
Producer Celebrates Faith and Victory
Producer Suresh Kamatchi offered a more extensive and emotional reflection on the film’s journey, acknowledging the challenges it overcame, including significant production delays.
“I had great faith in STR, in the script, and in director Venkat Prabhu when I began this project,” Kamatchi stated. “Even with all the inevitable delays and postponements, that belief remained unwavering.”
Kamatchi further emphasized that the entire team’s commitment and the audience’s trust were the driving forces behind the victory.
“The success that this film and this great combination have achieved is a triumph of the faith fans put in STR. Thank you to everyone who stood with us on this journey,” he concluded, making a special mention of the film’s music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja and the technical crew.
