Attahasam 4K Re-release Confirmed for Nov 28: Ajith Starrer Goes Head-to-Head with Suriya’s Anjaan

Kollywood Re-releases Attahasam

In a spectacular tribute to the early 2000s era of mass cinema, two major films are set to collide on the big screen. Ajith Kumar’s 2004 blockbuster, Attahasam, is gearing up for a grand 4K Dolby Atmos re-release across Tamil Nadu and Kerala on November 28, 2025, a date that also marks the re-release of Suriya’s 2014 gangster film, Anjaan. The simultaneous release has ignited immense excitement among fans eager to relive the magic of both ‘Mass Entertainers’ in packed screenings this Friday.

The Return of Attahasam

The remastered version of the 2004 action-emotional hit, originally directed by Saran and first released on November 12, 2004, promises a truly massive cinematic experience. The newly released official 4K trailer, distributed by Priya Nair’s IFPA Max Productions/IFPA Association, showcases the film’s iconic intense sequences and Ajith’s signature ‘mass entries’. Director Saran, who penned the story, screenplay, dialogues, and songs, expressed his confidence in the film, calling it a “film close to his fans’ hearts” in a recent post: “Is there life without his acting for the story, screenplay, dialogues, and songs tailored for him?” The anticipation is palpable, with the IFPA ASSOCIATION even announcing that “bookings begin from Thoothukudi”—a nod to the film’s dialogue that speaks of the city’s influential nature.

Addressing the Postponement and Official Confirmation

The journey to this re-release was not without turbulence. The film had faced earlier delays, and a few weeks prior, an unofficial trailer release caused a brief controversy, with director Saran publicly denying any involvement or endorsement of the earlier footage. However, all doubts have now been put to rest. The official momentum for the re-release is strong, with both director Saran and the prominent PR agency DOne Channel (led by Suresh Chandra) now actively promoting the Attahasam Official Re-release Trailer. This unified promotion confirms the film is officially set for its November 28 date, ensuring fans that the wait is finally over.

Anjaan’s Trimmed Competition

Adding to the buzz, Suriya’s Anjaan is also re-releasing on the same day. However, this re-release comes with a twist: the 2014 gangster film will be screened in a trimmed, sharper version clocking in at 1 hour and 59 minutes. Fan enthusiasm for this double dose of nostalgia is evident, as advance bookings are reportedly strong in key locations, including Trivandrum and Bengaluru, indicating a massive turnout for both films.
