Acclaimed Director Bala Heaps Praise on Sasikumar at ‘My Lord’ Press Meet: “He is My Brother and Disciple”

My Lord Movie Press Meet Sasikumar Raju Murugan

The Grand Unveiling of ‘My Lord’

The atmosphere in Chennai was electric on February 7th as the cast and crew of the upcoming Tamil film “My Lord” gathered for a high-profile press meet. Directed by the critically acclaimed Raju Murugan, the film features Sasikumar, Chaithra J Achar, and Guru Somasundaram in lead roles. The event was a testament to the film’s significance, drawing industry heavyweights like directors Bala, Mari Selvaraj, T.J. Gnanavel, and C. Prem Kumar.

Bala’s Emotional Endorsement

Director Bala, known for his raw and intense filmmaking, stole the spotlight with a heartwarming speech dedicated to Sasikumar. Reflecting on their long-standing relationship, Bala stated, “If you like Mani Ratnam sir, you will like whatever he does in his films. That is exactly how I feel about Sasikumar. Whether as a brother or a mentor, I simply love everything he does on screen.” Bala also extended his support to director Raju Murugan, noting that his unique titles like Cuckoo and Joker have always found a dedicated audience. “Naming a film ‘My Lord’ with a hint of satire requires immense courage,” Bala added, while also crediting director Mari Selvaraj for encouraging him to be more social and vocal in the industry.

Sasikumar Clarifies the Plot

Addressing the media, Sasikumar was quick to dispel rumors about the film’s genre. While the title suggests a legal thriller, Sasikumar clarified: “Many people think this is a courtroom drama, but it’s not. The film only features about 10 minutes of courtroom scenes. It is primarily about how a common man acquires power and what he chooses to do with it.” Sasikumar also expressed deep gratitude toward Bala, his mentor who gave him his first break in the industry as an assistant director and actor in Sethu. He emphasized that the script for My Lord remained untouched by his personal preferences, staying true to Raju Murugan’s original vision.

A Multi-Talented Cast and Musical Brilliance

The film marks a significant collaboration with music director Sean Roldan. During the event, Sasikumar praised his co-star Chaithra J Achar, revealing that she surprised the team with her singing talent. “Chaithra told me during the shoot that she could sing. When she finally performed, we were all blown away by her multi-faceted talent,” he shared.

“My Lord” is produced by Jayanthi Ambethkumar under the Olympia Movies banner and is scheduled for a grand theatrical release on February 13th. With a power-packed cast and a narrative focused on social empowerment, the film is poised to be one of the most anticipated releases of the month.
