The festive season in Kollywood arrived with high-octane fireworks as production banner Raaj Kamal Films International (RKFI) dropped a striking new poster of Superstar Rajinikanth from his highly anticipated feature, Dharman. Directed by Ashwath Marimuthu and bankrolled by cinema titan Kamal Haasan alongside R. Mahendran, the film treated fans to a stylish Deepavali visual greeting that instantly conquered digital platforms.
In the newly unveiled poster, Rajinikanth commands total authority, standing tall amid a dense, hazy traffic jam packed with vintage automobiles. Sporting a crisp blue button-down shirt tucked neatly into black pleated trousers, paired with sharp shades, a rugged beard, and an unbuttoned collar revealing a gold chain, the icon channels timeless retro machismo. The visual reinforces the project’s ongoing nod to his classic 1978 moniker, revived with the viral tag #KettaPaiyanSir.
This festive reveal lands on the heels of major production milestones. Only recently, the production house sent shockwaves across the industry by confirming Lady Superstar Nayanthara’s inclusion in the project. Her induction marks their sixth cinematic team-up after blockbusters like Chandramukhi, Sivaji, Kuselan, Darbar, and Annaatthe, while also cementing her maiden professional alignment under Kamal Haasan’s prestigious production umbrella.
Dharman continues to stand out for its remarkably loaded ensemble. Alongside Nayanthara, 1990s screen icon Simran essays a substantial role, creating a rare cross-generational union of leading heroines. Telugu star Ram Pothineni is slated to lock horns with Rajinikanth in an antagonist role, while rising youth sensation Sreeleela, Raashii Khanna, and premier comedian Yogi Babu round out the primary roster. Inside sources hint that Rajinikanth’s central character—a doctor thrown into circumstances requiring severe retribution—will deliver both sharp wit and vintage physical swagger.
With musical heavyweight Anirudh Ravichander tuning the background scores and soundtrack, cinematographer Niketh Bommi capturing the grand visuals, and the National Award-winning duo Anbariv designing visceral stunt work, the production is rapidly wrapping up key schedules across southern filming hubs. Distributed theatrically through Red Giant Movies, Dharman is marching forward toward a grand worldwide theatrical debut slated for the Pongal 2027 festive weekend.
