In what can only be described as a digital phenomenon, the trailer of Kollywood superstar Ajith Kumar’s highly anticipated action entertainer Good Bad Ugly has set a historic benchmark. Released on Friday, the trailer amassed a staggering 32.01 million views within just 24 hours, becoming the most-viewed theatrical trailer in the history of Tamil cinema.

The trailer shattered previous records held by blockbuster hits, including Leo (31.02M), Thunivu (30.9M), Beast (27.03M), and The GOAT (24.28M), firmly placing Good Bad Ugly at the top. Since its release, it has held the No.1 trending spot on YouTube, sparking euphoric celebrations among fans.

Directed by Adhik Ravichandran—best known for his high-energy film Mark AntonyGood Bad Ugly features music composed by National Award-winner G.V. Prakash Kumar. Produced by the acclaimed Mythri Movie Makers (marking their debut in Tamil cinema), the film is slated for a worldwide release on April 10, 2025.

The trailer offers a glimpse into an intense narrative headlined by Ajith Kumar, who plays a reformed gangster drawn back into violence for the sake of his family. Star heroine Trisha plays the female lead, reuniting with Ajith for their sixth collaboration. Arjun Das takes on the antagonist role with flair, delivering a stylish performance opposite Ajith’s powerful screen presence.

Opening with the folk classic “Otha Rooba Tharen,” the trailer swiftly plunges into action, dialogue-laden drama, and emotional stakes. Ajith delivers punchy lines like, “I gave up violence for my son’s sake. But if my son is at risk, I will go back to what I gave up,” sending fans into a frenzy.

Another standout moment comes when Arjun Das confronts Ajith’s character with the taunt: “AK sir, I heard you’re a big villain. But in my game, I’m your villain.” The trailer crescendos with Ajith warning, “You will have your nose and eyes. You will have your hands and legs. But you won’t have your life,” ending with a bold declaration—“Bad Boy.”

Despite a slight delay from the initially planned 9:01 p.m. launch, the trailer eventually dropped just 20 minutes later. The production house addressed the delay on social media, citing overwhelming traffic and declaring, “MASS SAMBAVAM had taken over.” True to their promise, the trailer proved worth the wait.

Originally intended for a Pongal 2025 release, Good Bad Ugly was later moved to April 10, offering it a solo run after Dhanush’s Idli Kadai backed out of the April race. As the countdown begins, Ajith fans are eagerly awaiting what promises to be a mass-loaded, emotionally-driven action extravaganza.

As of now, Ajith has not officially announced his next film, though names like Karthik Subbaraj and Prashanth Neel are in circulation. Fans and industry insiders alike are watching closely to see who the star will collaborate with next—after all, Good Bad Ugly has already set the bar sky-high.
