Digitally remastered in 4K with 7.1 surround sound, the film will hit over 500 screens across Tamil Nadu on August 22, commemorating the birth anniversary of the late actor and political leader Vijayakanth.
Directed by R.K. Selvamani and produced by Ibrahim Rowther, Captain Prabhakaran was not just another film in Vijayakanth’s illustrious career—it was his 100th movie, a landmark achievement that immortalized him as “Captain” in the hearts of fans and the film industry alike.

The announcement was made at an official press event at the DMDK (Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam) headquarters in Koyambedu, Chennai.
