The much-awaited title teaser of Vishal’s 35th film has been released, officially revealing the title as Magudam (transl. Crown). Directed by Ravi Arasu, known for his intense dramas Eetti and Ayngaran, the film promises to be a high-octane gangster saga with Vishal leading the charge.
The teaser, unveiled on Sunday, begins with captivating underwater imagery featuring sea creatures before shifting to a bustling harbor filled with containers, workers, and a powerful figure—Vishal—seen from the back. The atmosphere sets the tone for a gritty tale of power and leadership, before the title Magudam appears on screen, symbolizing authority and dominance.
Produced under the prestigious banner of Super Good Films, Magudam also marks the production house’s 99th venture (SGF 99), making it a milestone release. The film is currently in its second schedule of production in Ooty.
The film features Dushara Vijayan in her first collaboration with Vishal, while Anjali reunites with the actor after their recent outing Madha Gaja Raja. Comedian Yogi Babu, a frequent collaborator of Vishal from films such as Patathu Yaanai, Ayogya, Action, Veeramae Vaagai Soodum, and Rathnam, once again joins the cast.
Speaking about the project in an earlier interaction with a media, director Ravi Arasu said, “The upcoming film is a gangster drama. Both my previous directorials, Eetti and Ayngaran, were intense films. This one too is intense, but it is being shot on a much bigger scale.”
On the technical front, G.V. Prakash Kumar has been roped in to compose the music, marking his second collaboration with Vishal after the blockbuster Mark Antony. Richard M. Nathan handles cinematography, while N.B. Srikanth is the editor. G. Durairaj serves as the production designer, and celebrated stunt choreographer Dhilip Subbarayan will design the film’s action sequences.
With its gripping visuals and powerful score, the title teaser has already struck a chord with fans, raising expectations for Magudam to be one of Vishal’s most ambitious projects to date.
