The legendary Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja has unveiled his latest masterpiece, the album titled “Divya Pasurams.” As the auditorium resonated with the soulful strains of “Pallandu Pallandu,” Ilaiyaraaja presented the first copy of the album to Sri Tridandi Srimannarayana Ramanuja Chinna Jeeyar Swamy. The seer acknowledged Ilaiyaraaja’s devotion, commitment, and charitable spirit. Tamil scholar D. Gnanasundaram and scholar U. Ve. Venkatesh shared their insights during the event. The evening also featured a spiritual discourse by Srinithi and a captivating Bharathanjali dance performance by Anitha Guha.
Divya Pasurams is a special album that beautifully marries music with spirituality. Composed by Ilaiyaraaja, this musical offering celebrates the timeless verses of the Nalayira Divya Prabhandham. The Nalayira Divya Prabhandham comprises 4,000 Tamil verses written by the 12 Alvars. These sacred verses hold immense significance in Tamil literature and are considered an integral part of Vaishnavite tradition. From the vast collection of verses, eight pasurams were thoughtfully chosen for this album. Each pasuram resonates with devotion, love, and spiritual longing.
